I bought this new in 1983, at the Schwinn dealer in Ambridge PA., and I still use it. I can't afford anything new. If you had a spouse, kids, mortgage, kid's braces, medical bills, you'd understand.

I'm using it as my main commuter, because going much over 5 miles on a mountain bike, no matter what tires you put on it, just plain sucks. 26 inch wheels don't cut it. Trust me, I've tried it.

It's mostly all stock, except if you look at the stem you'll notice it's very tall. I put a new stem made for a hybrid bike on it to be able to sit up a little straighter. This helps enormously on those gut busting hills - helps me straighten my chest out and breathe more air. (thank you to my friend Ed) It also helps you sit up higher in car traffic so you can see, and be seen.

Unfortunately this bike lacks seat tube water bottle braze-ons, as well as rear rack braze-ons. If anyone wants to donate an old Trek 520 or 720 to me, I would happily take it :)
