Rocky IV: Colorado

Rocky III: Yellowstone

I had two main reasons to go to Fort Collins in Colorado, the first one was to have the bike serviced again and the other one was to visit one of my favourites Breweries, Budweiser. Well, no, Odell Brewing Co.

In Colorado I stopped using my GPS and switched to paper maps, I got lost a couple of times but that made me find places like this one:

I had a loaner bike for the day so I took it out for a ride™. A scenic route around the damn outside of Fort Collins in the morning, brewery visits in the afternoon and a bar with a 100 beers on tap in the evening with my host Justin.

The Rocky Mountain National Park is probably where you can find the best views in the State. I was planning on camping there, but it’s also the highest point in the State so it’s a bit too cold. The day before I went through it there was a storm and it snowed, so I got to experience real cold for the first time, even more than in Alaska.

I spent the rest of the day taking detours to avoid the Highway and make my route more interesting, all fun until I ended up in a pit.
